What is a P4 indoor SMD screen?
A P4 indoor SMD screen has pixels 4 mm apart – 62,500 pixels per square metre. It is the most economical indoor pitch for very large walls and screens mounted high up, where the nearest viewer is four metres or more away.
Typical uses are auditoriums, sports halls, large stores and stage screens. Each 320 × 160 mm module carries 80 × 40 pixels.
How far away should viewers be?
A simple rule: the closest comfortable viewing distance in metres is about the pixel pitch in millimetres. For P4 that is about 4 m (13.1 ft), and the picture keeps looking good out to about 40 m.
Choose P3 if some viewers will be closer than 4 m, or see P4 outdoor if the screen faces the street or direct sun.
