What is a P3 indoor SMD screen?
A P3 indoor SMD screen has pixels 3 mm apart – about 111,000 pixels per square metre. It is built for larger indoor walls that people see from a few metres away: mall atriums, exhibition halls, banquet halls and stages.
Because each pixel covers more area, you get a big, impactful screen for a lower cost per square foot than P2.5 – while still looking sharp to viewers standing three metres or more away.
How far away should viewers be?
A simple rule: the closest comfortable viewing distance in metres is about the pixel pitch in millimetres. For P3 that is about 3 m (9.8 ft), and the picture keeps looking good out to about 30 m.
Choose P2.5 if viewers stand closer than 3 m, or P4 for very large or high-mounted screens seen from further away.
