What is a P2 indoor SMD screen?
A P2 indoor SMD screen has pixels 2 mm apart – 250,000 pixels in every square metre. It is a step sharper than the popular P2.5 and is chosen when visitors stand a little closer, such as at receptions, showroom displays and inside shops.
Each 320 × 160 mm module carries 160 × 80 pixels using SMD1515 LEDs, and the DIGIX P2 module is rated for an optimal viewing range of 2 to 20 metres.
How far away should viewers be?
A simple rule: the closest comfortable viewing distance in metres is about the pixel pitch in millimetres. For P2 that is about 2 m (6.6 ft), and the picture keeps looking good out to 20 m.
Choose P1.86 for viewers closer than 2 m, or P2.5 to save cost when people are usually 2.5 m or more away.
Resolution: how many pixels do you get?
A P2 screen has 250,000 pixels in every square metre. Each 320 × 160 mm module holds 160 × 80 pixels (12,800 per module). A wall about 3.84 m wide reaches full-HD width (1920 pixels). Use the SMD screen calculator to see the exact size and resolution for your own wall.
Brightness
The DIGIX P2 module delivers 1,200 nits or more – well above indoor lighting – and can be dimmed for darker spaces. It is an indoor screen and is not made for direct sunlight.
