What is a P10 outdoor SMD screen?
A P10 outdoor SMD screen has pixels 10 mm apart – 10,000 pixels per square metre. It is the most economical choice for very large billboards that are seen from far away: highways, rooftops and big building façades.
Each 320 × 160 mm module carries 32 × 16 pixels. At typical highway viewing distances the picture looks smooth, and the larger pitch keeps the cost per square foot low for very big screens.
How far away should viewers be?
A simple rule: the closest comfortable viewing distance in metres is about the pixel pitch in millimetres. For P10 that is about 10 m (32.8 ft), and the picture keeps looking good out to about 100 m.
If the screen will also be seen from closer than 10 m, P8 gives a sharper picture.
Resolution: how many pixels do you get?
